2010-09-19 19:00

Gig at the Forrest Arms in longridge , a great venue , compact and bijou mostin..... in other words a small pub, get there early it fills quickly , its an early start 7.00 pm and finishes at 9-30pm on the button , due to sunday night live music curfew !!! great atmosphere , good beer , no excuses...
Well that was the ad , it was the wettest sunday night in human history but a good crowd turned out and there were a few muso's in the audience too , both sets were well received and encores called for , management are keen to book us again so watch the events page for details of return gigs.

SOUTHPORT XMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON

We were chuffed to bits to get this gig but it came with the usual hurdles to leap over, namely Dawn our co singer breaking her foot just before the gig and not being able to do it and the over officious parking wardens who wanted me to park a fully loaded car 400 yards away from the venue and carry the equipment we needed rather than let us park on double yellows for 3 minutes and leave the gear on the pavement, after much arguing and with the help of the organisers the equipment was unloaded while he was kept busy arguing . tha P.A system used by the organisers had a pro sound engineer so setting up was in minutes and as near perfect as we could get, the weather was clear but sub zero in the wind, playing ice cold strings with numb hands was pretty painful, we ended up doing two shortened sets due to overuns by the speechy people....pity the hot air didnt warm us up more !!!

All in all it was enjoyable cold but fun.

THE OLD OAK HOTEL 11-12-2010

Another great night at our singers local venue, the beer in here is dangerous some really fine ale and one needs a heck of a lot of willpower not to guzzle a couple before heading home....drink n drive????? not me sir !!! you sir ??? ;-)

PRIVATE WEDDING AT THE PRINCE OF WALES HOTEL,SOUTHPORT. 18-12-2010

Our last gig of the year and what a day and night, my car was under a foot of snow , battery flat, got to gig set up , soundcheck to a sound policeman , you know the box on the wall 5 red lights yer dead !!! the drummers snare cut it out on its own , so you can imagine led zeps 'rock and roll' was off the menu !!! we played dead quietly and kept a wary eye on the sound meter, it cut out once in each half which is really annoying because we had to reset the keyboards and pedals, still it was a hoot ,the bride and groom and guests loved us , we got fed and paid !!! late night though .

I caught swine flu that night and last the first 2 weeks of 2011 bed ridden, so we wrote off january and february due to illness, we are back in the rehearsal room now and have gigs coming in.

THE COMMERCIAL HOTEL COLNE 16/04/2011

Our first gig at this venue after an enforced lay off we were bustin a gut to play , the venue has a decent sized room stone floor and low ceiling made for a more difficult than usual set up , the set list included a few old favourites of ours and some crowd pleasers, we were very well received by the crowd and the second set tailed off into the early hours with a few encores. Overall a very enjoyable gig , we have been re booked for the august bank holiday 26th a friday night , we will be on stage from 9.30 pm till the close .Its the Colne blues festival that weekend so if you're in town check us out

THE TRAWDEN ARMS ,TRAWDEN, 23/4/2011

What a great venue , lovely pub ,beer great, very appreciative audience , good atmosphere, the gaffer was very helpful , in all a really enjoyable gig , we return on the 29th of october 2011 hopefully you can get to see us .

THE WHALLEY ARMS ,WHALLEY, 28/05/2011

Another good venue pity we were booked in the same night as manchester united were playing barcelona in the european cup final at wembley, the crowd at the pub was slightly less than wmbley as you can imagine, the venue has a small stage area which points into a corner of the main room so its a difficult position to play from, having said that , the very small turnout gave us a warm reception and a very good evening was only spoiled by a drunkard who abused some of the band and a couple of the girls that were with us in our half time break for stopping playing !!!, what a pity these sort of idiots cant stay at home and drink themselves stupid alone and leave the rest of us to enjoy a night out  !! having said that one of the barmen ejected the said eejit when we brought it to his attention. really nice gaffer and bar staff , beer was ok too.
